Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress from Manama, Bahrain and was born into a multi-ethnic household. Her father Elroy is Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim is a Malaysian. Padukone's father is a professional badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has had a childhood in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. In her teens she was a badminton player in the national championships, but she ended her career in the sport to become a fashion model. Padukone was born in Mangalore, Indian. Her mother tongue Konkani is where she comes from. Her family tree is rooted in Padukone village located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of the State of Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone has retired as an internationally renowned badminton athlete and her mother also works as a travel advisor.
